The Game - Neil Strauss
PROS:
Interesting story, I didn’t want put it down. Should be noted though, while it is non-fiction, everything should be taken in with a grain of salt.
Strauss’ writing style is great to read, with lively, vivid descriptions.
Inspiring, in many points. While not necessary directly applicable to everyone, it does show how much a man can grow in just 2 years.
CONS:
Truth be told, a lot of the parts are misogynistic. Sadly though, such is the way of the world. As they say: Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
Pretty much everyone besides Style is a 1 or 2-dimensional character. It may be intentional, to drive a stronger impact, but considering that these people are actual people, he could have at least painted a better picture for them.
VERDICT: READ, but realize that you are not Style, so while you can emulate, you can never duplicate.
